The Montana 30-day lease termination letter for tenants is delivered to a landlord by a tenant to notify them that they’re terminating their month-to-month rental agreement. The tenant must select the appropriate box on the termination letter to indicate the type of tenancy agreement being terminated. Once the letter is ready for delivery, it must be sent to the landlord thirty (30) days before the termination date. If the landlord discovers that the property remains occupied after thirty (30) days, they can evict the tenant from the property by filing a lawsuit in court.

Laws § 70-24-441(2)
