A lease termination letter allows a tenant or landlord to end a rental contract. Depending on the type of agreement being canceled, the termination letter may be for eviction, ending a month-to-month lease, or ending a lease early. It’s recommended to whichever the type of lease being voided, the letter be sent via certified mail with return receipt to have proof the other party received the letter. Afterward, the landlord and tenant should come together to discuss the termination and vacating the property.
