Vermont 14-day notice to quit for non-payment is a document served on a tenant who is in default on their rent payment communicating that they have fourteen (14) days to remedy the situation by either moving out or paying the total of the amount owed. A partial payment is not sufficient to avoid lease termination unless both parties have agreed otherwise. Failure to either vacate or settle up with the landlord within the notice period will more often than not lead to an ejectment suit and a court order from a judge to remove the tenant from the premises.
