The New Mexico roommate agreement creates a contractual arrangement between roommates in which each occupant agrees to follow a set of rules and regulations while living together. The conditions set forth in the agreement will help strengthen the relationships of roommates and reduce the possibility of disagreements over terms not stated in the lease. In the document, the roommates can stipulate conditions for cleanliness, smoking, firearms, quiet hours and overnight guests. They may also specify the manner in which rent and other expenses will be divided. After reaching a mutual agreement, the roommate can sign the document to create a legally binding contract.
