A Pennsylvania roommate agreement allows two (2) or more individuals to enter into a written contract in order to create an amicable living arrangement. This type of agreement doesn’t involve the landlord, with whom the parties have a separate lease agreement, and concerns solely the roommates, who must negotiate its terms to establish fair living conditions for all parties.
Terms such as rent amount, division of chores, common area maintenance and usage, guests, pets, and noise restrictions will be entered into the roommate agreement. These terms may be amended as needed or when roommates leave/enter into the lease. A roommate agreement is a legally binding document once all roommates have signed on the last page of the form.
