Mississippi Concealed Carry
Mississippi is a “constitutional carry state” that allows permitless concealed carry, provided the gun is carried as follows:
- Fully enclosed case
- Purse, handbag, briefcase, or similar
- Sheath
- Shoulder holster
- Belt holster
Mississippi residents who are 21 and older can obtain a permit from their local Firearm Permit Division by carrying out the below steps[2]:
- Complete the Concealed/Enhanced Carry Application (IFP-APP-01) (must be notarized).
- Complete additional forms as necessary, which may include:
- “Gather completion certificate from eight-hour training course (required only for enhanced permits).[3]
- Submit documents and permit fees to a Driver Service Bureau that processes permits. Applicants will be photographed and fingerprinted.
If approved, the license will be issued within 45 days.[4]
