Recording Requirements

  • The grantor’s signature and notarization of the document are required.[1]
  • The document size must be 8.5″ x 14″ or under to be valid for recording.
  • The font size cannot be smaller than 10 pt.
  • Documents must be prepared with a top margin of 3″ on the first page and 1″ on all other sides.[2]

The County Recorder’s Office handles deed recording for properties located within its own county.[3] The cost to record a deed is $20 if it contains 1-6 pages, $65 for 7-25 pages, and $3 per each page over 25 pages.[4]
