Month-to-Month Lease Laws

  • Termination Notice – Both parties can end a monthly lease agreement for any reason as long as one month’s notice is provided.[1]
  • Rent Increase NoticeThere is no separate notice period for raising rent in Missouri.

Required Disclosures (3)

  1. Lead-Based Paint Disclosure (PDF) – If a rental property was built prior to 1978, the landlord must provide a disclosure to the tenant that they may be exposed to lead-based paint.[2]
  2. Methamphetamine Production – Tenants must be informed that the rental property was used to produce methamphetamine if the landlord has knowledge of this fact.[3]
  3. Names and Addresses The name and address of the manager of the property and the owner (or their agent for the purpose of service of process) must be provided at the beginning of the tenancy.[4]
