A Missouri month-to-month lease agreement is used to record the terms of an arrangement in which a tenant agrees to rent residential property at periodic intervals of one (1) month. Like standard leases, a month-to-month agreement details the rights and obligations of both the landlord and tenant. Where a month-to-month agreement varies primarily is its flexible termination date; both the landlord and tenant may end the agreement for any reason upon one (1) month’s written notice. If neither party decides to end the arrangement, the lease renews for an additional month and will do so continuously until terminated by the landlord or tenant.
