Month-to-Month Laws
- Termination Notice – Landlords must give a 45-day notice to terminate a month-to-month lease agreement, while tenants need only provide 28 days.[1]
- Rent Increase Notice – A minimum 45-day notice must be provided to tenants if the landlord wants to raise the rent.[2]
Required Disclosures (3)
- Identification – The tenant must be provided with the names and addresses of anyone who manages the premises, any owners, and anyone allowed to receive rent, notice, demands, and service processes on behalf of the owner. Additionally, the landlord must provide their tax excise number.[3]
- Lead-Based Paint Disclosure (PDF) – If the property was built before 1978, landlords must disclose that the rental unit may contain toxic paint.[4]
- Property Condition Disclosure (PDF) – The landlord must give the tenant a written inventory of the property and its condition before the move-in date.[5]
